A Sophisticated Repeater Controller,
Offering Auxiliary Audio Port,
Local Control, and Full Redundancy
Please bear in mind this design is work in progress, as it develops I shall be posting updates. Furthermore, if you think of anything you feel would add to the design please let me know...
Though the Simple Repeater Controller has its place, the time has come to develop a controller offering greater functionality and flexibility. The key features associated with this new controller are detailed her below:
The controller to take the form of a stand alone unit (1U 19" rack mountable).
Simple menu driven local control, facilitated by integral LCD display and keypad.
Fully redundant system topology with provision for both automatic and manual switching between the main and standby paths.
Provision for transmitter load sharing.
Auxiliary audio gateway (providing for easy inclusion of internet linking).
Simple, easy to set up, and easy to replicate design, using readily available components.
All electronic switching, with open collector outputs (mechanical switching i.e. relays as an option), and opto isolated inputs.
Integrated TONEBURST and DTMF decoders.
Front panel - proposed front panel layout for the Repeater Controller.
Micro Controller - proposed overall controller block diagram.
Audio Switching - proposed audio section, including switching and PIPtone generator.
Local Control - proposed local control menu structure.
